About
I was born in San José, Costa Rica, together with my twin sister - I'm five minutes older! I also have a younger brother, the greatest parents in the whole world, a big extended family, two godsons, and good friends. My education started at Country Day School, an American school in Escazú. After high school, I moved to Boston and attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute from where I received my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science.
Fútbol and running are my favorite hobbies. I run as much as I can to compensate for all the time I spend sitting in front of a computer.
My father started a software development company almost 30 years ago, previously known as DECSA, now Yaipan. My computer science roots started to grow there and my father taught my brother and I to embrace open source technology and its community.
My professional career as a software guy started right after college, at EMC Corporation in Hopkinton, MA. After four years, I relocated to Seattle, WA to work at Amazon.com. Three years later I decided to take a road trip and move back to the East Coast. I now work at Squarespace in New York City.
My career path has allowed me to work with and learn from some of the smartest engineers out there and I have made lasting friendships along the way.
